Iran's Revolutionary Guard Claims to Have Destroyed Multiple Facilities at U.S. Military Bases in the Middle East

Xinhua News Agency, Tehran, July 13 - The public relations department of the Iranian Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) stated on the 13th that the IRGC Navy intercepted two "violating" vessels on the evening of the 12th, after which the U.S. military launched an attack on the coastal bases of the Iranian armed forces. In response, the IRGC struck U.S. Air Force bases located in Jordan, Bahrain, and Kuwait, destroying multiple facilities.

The statement said that on the evening of the 12th, the two "violating" vessels shut down their systems and were "illegally navigating" in the Strait of Hormuz, "endangering the safety of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz," prompting the IRGC Navy to take action to intercept them. Subsequently, the U.S. military, as "the instigators of these illegal and dangerous actions," launched an attack on the coastal bases of the Iranian armed forces.

The statement noted that as the first phase of the response to the U.S. military attack, the IRGC launched missiles and drones at the U.S. Air Force base in Jordan, causing fires in the base's fuel storage and ammunition facilities.

The IRGC subsequently issued another statement saying that in the second phase of retaliating against the U.S. military, the IRGC Aerospace Force destroyed the helicopter maintenance center, a P-8 electronic warfare aircraft hangar, and a drone command and control center at the Sheikh Isa Air Base in Bahrain.

In a separate statement, the IRGC said that in the third phase of the operation, the IRGC Aerospace Force destroyed the fuel storage and "Patriot" air defense system at the Ali Al-Salem Air Base in Kuwait, as well as a strategic-level FPS radar system at the Ahmed Al-Jabir Air Base.
