Iran's Supreme Leader Officially Appoints 6 to Senior Military Positions
On August 10, Xinhua News Agency reported from Tehran (Reporter Chen Xiao, Shadati) that according to news from the office of the Supreme Leader of Iran on the 10th, the Supreme Leader Mujtaba signed multiple appointment orders, officially appointing six individuals to senior positions in the General Staff of the Armed Forces, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, and the militia organization "Mobilization of the Poor."
According to the appointment orders, Major General Ali Abdollahi of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been appointed as the Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces, and Brigadier General Kioumars Haidari of the Iranian Army has been appointed as the Deputy Chief of General Staff of the Armed Forces; Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been promoted to Major General and appointed as the Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, while Major General Mostafa Izadi of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been appointed as the Deputy Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; Rear Admiral Ali Azmaei of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps has been appointed as the Commander of the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps; and Hossein Taeb has been appointed as the head of the militia organization "Mobilization of the Poor."
On August 10, 2023, Iran's Supreme Leader appointed six senior military officials, including General Ali Abdollahi as Chief of Staff of the Armed Forces and Brigadier General Kiumars Haidari as Deputy Chief of Staff. General Ahmad Vahidi was promoted to Major General and appointed as Commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, while Hosseini Taeb was named head of the Mobilization of the Oppressed Organization.
