Iran's Supreme Leader's Military Advisor: The US-Iran Memorandum of Understanding is De Facto Dead
On the 17th local time, Iran's Supreme Leader's military advisor Mohsen Rezaei stated that the United States has violated the terms of the U.S.-Iran memorandum of understanding, and that this memorandum is now effectively null and void.
Rezaei said that Israel has not withdrawn its troops from southern Lebanon; despite the legal shipping lanes being open on the Iranian side of the Strait of Hormuz, the U.S. has opened illegal shipping lanes; it disrespects Iran's sovereignty and has launched military attacks on Iran's coastal areas; and it has not unblocked Iran's frozen assets—these are all specific manifestations of the U.S. violating the memorandum of understanding.
If the U.S. continues to attack, the Iranian military will enter the "full offensive" phase
Rezaei also stated that U.S. forces are launching large-scale attacks on infrastructure in southern Iran through a form of hybrid warfare. As U.S. forces launch attacks again, Iran has expanded the scope of the war, according to previous warnings.
Rezaei said that if the U.S. continues to attack in the coming days, the Iranian armed forces will move beyond the current "deterrence and retaliation" phase into the "full offensive and destruction" phase. At that time, bases and soldiers outside U.S. borders will become direct targets. The U.S. should know that its strategy of "talking while fighting" has reached a deadlock. In the coming days, Iran's attacks will become more intense. (Reporter Wei Ran from the Central Broadcasting Station)
