Israel Tightens Northern Civil Defense Policy to Respond to Hezbollah Attacks
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, May 30 (Reporter Chen Junqing, Wang Zhuolun) The Israeli Home Front Command announced on the evening of the 30th that it is tightening civil defense policies in northern Israel to respond to rocket and drone attacks from Hezbollah in Lebanon.
The updated civil defense policy requires that several towns near the temporary border with Lebanon, including Shimonah, are not allowed to conduct any educational activities. The number of people gathering indoors and outdoors is limited to 200 and 50, respectively. In areas such as Upper Galilee in northern Israel, educational activities are only permitted in areas that are "quickly accessible to shelters."
The tightened civil defense policy is effective until the evening of June 1, at which point the Israeli Home Front Command will reassess the situation.
Since early on the 30th, towns in northern Israel such as Shimonah, Safed, and Nahariya have been consecutively hit by rocket attacks from Hezbollah. The Israeli military stated that some of these rockets were intercepted, while others landed in open areas, causing no casualties.

The Israeli military has crossed the Litani River, and its military operations in southern Lebanon are expanding northward to the Zahrani River. Meanwhile, Hezbollah has intensified its attacks on northern Israel.
