Israeli Airstrikes in Gaza Strip Kill 12 People

Xinhua News Agency, Gaza, April 24 (Reporter Zhao Weihong) A source from the Palestinian health department told Xinhua reporters on the 24th that the Israeli military launched attacks on multiple locations in the Gaza Strip that day, resulting in 12 deaths, including 6 members of the police under the control of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Ministry of Interior.

The source stated that in the afternoon, the Israeli military shelled several residential buildings near a hospital in the northern Gaza town of Beit Lahia, resulting in 3 deaths and multiple injuries.

The Palestinian Ministry of Interior issued a statement that evening, saying that the Israeli military attacked a police patrol in the Sheikh Radwan neighborhood in northern Gaza City that day. Additionally, a police car was bombed by the Israeli military after completing a mission in the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis. The statement pointed out that the day's attacks resulted in the deaths of 6 police officers and 3 civilians. Since the ceasefire last October, the total number of police officers who have died in the line of duty has reached 31.
