Xinhua News Agency, Beirut, April 28 (Reporter Shen Feng) The Lebanese Ministry of Public Health stated on the 28th that the Israel Defense Forces launched an airstrike on the town of Majdal Zoun in southern Lebanon that day, resulting in at least 5 deaths, including 3 medical personnel from the civil defense department.

A statement released earlier by the Lebanese civil defense department indicated that Israel had earlier airstriked the town of Majdal Zoun, and civil defense personnel subsequently began rescue operations. The Israeli military then conducted another airstrike, trapping the aforementioned 3 medical personnel under the rubble, who ultimately lost their lives.

The Lebanese military stated that a government army patrol team was cooperating with civil defense personnel in the town of Majdal Zoun, using two civilian bulldozers to carry out rescue operations for civilians. During this time, they were targeted by an Israeli airstrike, resulting in injuries to two Lebanese soldiers.

Lebanese President Aoun condemned this Israeli attack, pointing out that the attack on rescue personnel violates international law. Lebanese Prime Minister Salam stated that this is a "new war crime" committed by Israel and expressed that the government will mobilize all forces to compel Israel to stop its ongoing violations of the ceasefire agreement.

At midnight local time on the 17th, a temporary ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel took effect for 10 days. U.S. President Trump announced on the 23rd that the ceasefire would be extended for 3 weeks. However, Israel continued to launch attacks, citing violations of the ceasefire agreement by Hezbollah. Data released earlier on the 28th by the Lebanese Ministry of Health indicated that since the resumption of hostilities on March 2, Israeli attacks on Lebanon have resulted in 2,534 deaths and 7,863 injuries.
