Israeli Army Claims to Have Destroyed Over 50 Hezbollah Facilities in Lebanon
Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, May 2 (Reporters Pang Xinyi and Chen Junqing) The Israel Defense Forces stated on the 2nd that the Israeli military struck Hezbollah targets located in southern Lebanon the previous day, killing armed members of Hezbollah and destroying over 50 of their infrastructures.
The Israeli military stated that the targets included command centers, military facilities, and other infrastructures that "were used to launch attacks against Israel and Israeli soldiers."
The Israeli military also reported that Hezbollah fired several rockets at Israeli soldiers operating in southern Lebanon that day, and these rockets "landed in open areas."
An Israeli military spokesperson on May 1 urged residents of several villages in southern Lebanon to evacuate, stating that being "close to Hezbollah personnel and facilities" would pose a "danger to life."
At midnight local time on April 17, a temporary ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel took effect for ten days. U.S. President Trump announced on April 23 the extension of the ceasefire for three weeks. However, Israel continued to launch attacks on the grounds that Hezbollah was violating the ceasefire agreement and dismantled and destroyed Hezbollah's "military infrastructure" in the southern region it occupies.
