Xinhua News Agency, Jerusalem, September 20 (Reporter Wang Zhuolun, Feng Guorui) The Israel Defense Forces and the Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) issued a joint statement on the 20th, stating that the Israeli military killed three members of the Palestinian Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas) in the Gaza Strip, two of whom had participated in the attack on Israel on October 7, 2023.

The statement said that on the 19th, the Israeli military launched an airstrike, killing Yahya Hamdouna, a member of Hamas's military wing. In several other airstrikes carried out over the weekend, the Israeli military also killed two Hamas militants, namely Muhammad Rafai, affiliated with Hamas's "Dahaj-Tufah Battalion," and Basir Barsh, commander of Hamas's elite "Nukhba" forces.

The Israeli side stated that these three individuals had recently planned attacks against Israeli soldiers and Israeli civilians and had participated in restoring Hamas's military capabilities.

The Israeli military stated that its southern command forces are currently still deployed in the relevant areas according to the relevant agreements and will continue to take action to respond to what it calls "any direct threat."
