KNDS to equip Lithuania with LEGUAN bridge layers

Munich, January 28, 2026 – The Lithuanian Ministry of Defence has commissioned KNDS Deutschland (KNDS) to deliver twelve LEGUAN bridge layers on LEOPARD 2 chassis. The contract stipulates that each system will be equipped with two 14m and one 26m LEGUAN bridges. Furthermore, an Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) package, which includes training, specialized tools, and spare parts, ensures the operational readiness of the LEGUAN LEOPARD 2 bridge layers.

The total contract volume is approximately EUR 210 million.

The LEGUAN LEOPARD 2 offers the mobility of the LEOPARD 2 main battle tank and maximum of identical logistics. The 14m and 26m bridges meet the highest requirements for an MLC 80 load capacity and offer further expansion potential. The bridge can be automatically deployed and retrieved from the protected cabin, day and night.

The LEGUAN system on various tracked and wheeled platforms is already in use and being procured by 22 armies around the world.
