Xinhua News Agency Moscow/Kiev, July 4 - According to reports from Russia and Ukraine, from the evening of the 3rd to the early morning of the 4th, Russian and Ukrainian forces launched large-scale attacks on each other's targets. The Russian military stated that four more settlements under its control were added in Kharkiv Oblast.

On the 4th, the Russian Ministry of Defense issued a statement saying that in the past 24 hours, Russian forces attacked Ukrainian military fuel, energy, and transportation infrastructure in 142 areas, as well as facilities for the production and storage of long-range drones, and struck temporary deployment sites of Ukrainian forces and foreign mercenaries.

The statement said that Russian air defense forces also destroyed 10 "Flamingo" cruise missiles, 9 "HIMARS" rocket artillery, 16 guided aerial bombs, and 893 fixed-wing drones launched by the Ukrainian military.

On the 4th, Alexander Shuvaev, acting governor of Belgorod Oblast in Russia, stated on social media that from the evening of the 3rd to the early morning of the 4th, the Ukrainian military launched the largest-scale attack on the region's infrastructure since the outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict, resulting in power and water supply interruptions in the regional capital, Belgorod, but no casualties were reported.

The General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported on social media on the 4th that from the night of the 3rd to the 4th, a total of 268 instances of gunfire were recorded. In the past 24 hours, Ukrainian forces struck 3 Russian command posts, 5 drone command posts, and more. Ukrainian air defense forces also destroyed 69 Russian drones. Two Russian missiles and 17 drones hit 16 targets.
