Xinhua News Agency, Abidjan, April 27 (Reporter Chen Chen, Zhang Jian) Bamako reports: Omar Diallo, Chief of Staff of the Malian Armed Forces, stated on the 26th that the Malian military is adjusting troop deployments in the northern Kidal region to respond to the current security situation in the country.

In a speech on Malian national television that evening, Diallo said that in response to the special circumstances in Kidal city, the Malian military is adjusting troop deployments and redeploying forces to Anefis to enhance the flexibility of military deployments.

A source from the Malian security department told Xinhua on the 27th that the separatist armed group "Azawad Liberation Front" has currently taken control of Kidal city.

In March 2012, a military coup occurred in Mali. In May 2015, the Malian government signed a peace and reconciliation agreement with some armed groups in the northern region. However, conflicts have continued in northern Mali in recent years, and there has also been an increasing trend of armed attacks in the central and southern regions.
