Media: Israeli Army Withdraws from the Al-Tahira Heights in Southern Lebanon

On September 13, Xinhua News Agency reported from Jerusalem (reporters Wang Zhuolun and Feng Guorui) that the Israeli military has withdrawn several kilometers from the Alita Hill in southern Lebanon to the Bofort Ridge and plans to further reduce its troop presence in the "security zone" in southern Lebanon.

The report stated that despite the withdrawal from Alita Hill, the Israeli military launched attacks on the area and nearby villages on the 13th to prevent Hezbollah militants from re-entering. The Israeli military stated that as part of the troop reduction plan, a brigade is expected to be withdrawn from southern Lebanon in the near future. Currently, the government and military are still discussing the subsequent troop levels.

Channel 12 of Israel reported that the Israeli military is currently redeploying along the "Blue Line," which is the northern boundary of what the Israeli military calls the "security zone." The Israeli military is also coordinating with the Lebanese government to deploy the Lebanese army in the areas vacated by the Israeli military.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu and Defense Minister Katz issued a joint statement on the evening of the 10th, stating that the Israeli military destroyed Hezbollah's underground facilities beneath Alita Hill that day. The Israel Defense Forces stated that over 1,100 tons of explosives were used during the demolition. The Israeli military claimed that these underground facilities belonged to the Badr Brigade of Hezbollah, which is responsible for the area north of the Litani River in southern Lebanon. The tunnel network consists of 8 passages with a total length of 5.4 kilometers, serving as the "nerve center" for the brigade.
