Media reports that the Israeli army is considering withdrawing from parts of southern Lebanon.

The report states that the fifth round of talks between Israel and Lebanon was launched in the United States on the 23rd and is expected to last until the 25th. Unlike Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu's previous statement that the Israeli military would continue to remain in the "security zone" in southern Lebanon, this round of talks is discussing the withdrawal of Israeli troops from certain areas in Lebanon.

According to the report, some of the areas expected to be withdrawn by the Israeli military are located south of the so-called "Blue Line," which is the area currently occupied by the Israeli military. An Israeli senior official told Channel 13 that the military "recently occupied some areas for negotiations and will withdraw from there afterward." The official stated that the military will withdraw from "a small area" in southern Lebanon, which only constitutes "a few percent" of the relevant area.

The report indicates that the related withdrawal plan is part of a proposal promoted by the United States. According to this plan, U.S. troops will train the Lebanese army to enhance its deployment and control capabilities, and confirm that personnel entering the areas from which the Israeli military is withdrawing belong to the Lebanese army, not Hezbollah militants.

The report states that the Israeli government has reportedly issued formal instructions to the military: the military can operate freely within the "Blue Line" and can take action to prevent immediate threats, but cannot conduct operations in more distant areas such as Beirut and Tyre. The Jerusalem Post previously reported that the United States has been increasingly tightening restrictions on the Israeli government and military on multiple fronts.

Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, Defense Minister Katz, and Chief of Staff of the Israel Defense Forces Zamel stated in a joint statement on the 22nd that the military will continue to conduct military operations in southern Lebanon to address "security threats," while maintaining the so-called "security zone" controlled by Israel in southern Lebanon.
