The Saudi-led coalition claims to have intercepted missiles and drones from the Yemeni Houthi forces

A spokesperson for the Saudi Arabia-led multinational coalition, Turki Al-Maliki, stated on social media on the 1st that the coalition intercepted and destroyed two ballistic missiles launched by the Yemeni Houthi forces towards the southwestern Saudi cities of Khamis Mushait and Jazan, as well as four drones launched towards Khamis Mushait on the same day.

Al-Maliki also mentioned that the coalition is continuing to take operational measures to deter the Yemeni Houthi forces.

The Saudi Civil Defense Authority issued a statement on the same day, saying that the Civil Defense department in Khamis Mushait dealt with an incident where debris from an intercepted Houthi ballistic missile fell into a residential area, causing damage to several buildings and some vehicles.

According to another statement by Al-Maliki on social media that day, the Houthi forces used drones to attack a distribution station in Medina, Saudi Arabia, on September 29, resulting in one transformer shutting down, but it did not affect the operation of the power grid. The statement indicated that the investigation results and evidence such as drone wreckage show that the Houthi forces planned and executed this attack.

On September 16, Al-Maliki disclosed that the Saudi air defense forces intercepted and destroyed a Houthi drone heading towards Mecca the previous night. A member of the Houthi political bureau, Hizam Al-Asadi, posted on social media the same day, stating that the allegations regarding the Houthi forces using drones to attack Mecca are "lies."
