Mutual Attacks Between Russia and Ukraine Result in Casualties

According to Xinhua News Agency in Moscow/Kyiv on August 9 (reporters Wang Zuokui and Li Dongxu), Alexander Shuvaev, the acting governor of Belgorod Oblast in Russia, stated on social media that in the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian military launched 146 attacks on the region, resulting in 3 deaths and 25 injuries.

Shuvaev mentioned that the attacks also caused some vehicles and houses to catch fire, and a large number of administrative and commercial facilities were damaged. Over the past 24 hours, Russian air defense forces shot down 162 drones.

On the 9th, the Russian Ministry of Defense released a report stating that the Russian military continues to strike Ukrainian ports and vessels, including facilities in the ports of Odesa and Chornomorsk used for loading and storing fuel, military supplies, and more.

Ukrainian President Zelensky posted on social media on the 9th that from the evening of the 8th to the early morning of the 9th, the Russian military launched large-scale airstrikes on multiple locations including Odesa, Kharkiv, Dnipro-Petrovsk, and Kyiv, damaging port facilities and many residential buildings, shopping centers, and energy facilities. As of the morning of the 9th, the attacks had resulted in at least 2 deaths and dozens of injuries.

Zelensky stated that in the past week, the Russian military fired 61 missiles into Ukrainian territory, of which 56 were ballistic missiles, in addition to launching 1,560 drones and 1,540 aerial bombs.
