The Armed Police Shantou Detachment Explores Intensive Support Model to Enhance Training Quality and Efficiency——

New Training Work Integration Box Debuts on the Training Ground

On a clear autumn morning, in a certain camp of the Guangdong Armed Police Corps, Instructor Yuan Jing of the Shantou Detachment's new training team, accompanied by two key personnel, briskly walked towards the training ground carrying three military green training boxes.

“In the past, preparing training equipment required me to spend the night in the warehouse rummaging around; now with these boxes, I can gather all the training supplies in just 10 minutes.” Upon arriving at the training ground, Yuan Jing opened the box lid to show the author.

Inside the training box, partitions divide the space into three areas: office documents, training equipment, and emergency support, with over ten types of supplies neatly categorized. Each compartment is labeled with the name, quantity, and responsible person. “The first time I brought new recruits, I had to run to seven warehouses to gather the training supplies,” Yuan Jing said, noting that this predicament of “the troops are ready, but the supplies are not” had long plagued the detachment's new training efforts.

Earlier this year, the detachment held a party meeting to discuss training issues, focusing on the long preparation time for new training supplies. Some suggested purchasing additional equipment; others pointed out that many items previously procured were now sitting idle in warehouses.

After discussions, the detachment established the principle of “not applying for special funds to purchase new equipment, but rather optimizing the use of existing equipment for intensive support,” and organized personnel to conduct a thorough inventory of all new training supplies across the detachment. Ultimately, they consolidated dozens of types of new training supplies scattered across seven warehouses into the newly modified training work integration boxes, significantly shortening the preparation cycle for new training equipment.

New training key personnel, First Class Sergeant Quan Kebao, recalled that when he previously brought new recruits, after finishing one training subject, he would have to carry a pile of equipment back to the camp to switch to the next subject's training supplies. By the time he brought the equipment back and counted it, the rest period was almost over.

“Now, all new training supplies are in the boxes; we just take the equipment needed for whichever subject we are training, making it very convenient to use as needed.” Quan Kebao pointed to the training box, saying that during breaks, he no longer has to run back and forth and can instead organize brief summaries, improving the training effectiveness.

Coincidentally, the author saw a similar function to the new training work integration box at the detachment's shooting range, where they had set up a pre-positioning point for shooting range supplies. “In the past, when organizing live-fire training, each squadron had to prepare supplies in advance, and if there were any shortages, they had to return to the camp to replenish, which easily disrupted the training schedule,” said Liu Xingyu, a training staff officer of the detachment. They transformed an idle tool room next to the shooting range into a pre-positioning point for shooting range supplies, storing training materials there in advance, managed by dedicated personnel, and replenished as needed during shooting. “Previously, we could arrange a maximum of three rounds of live-fire shooting in a morning; now we can arrange four rounds,” Liu Xingyu said.

“Support follows training, and services revolve around the troops. We optimize the coordination model of training resources based on existing conditions, incurring minimal costs while precisely addressing the difficulties and bottlenecks in training support.” The detachment's leadership stated that from the on-demand access of the new training work integration box to the on-site training at the shooting range pre-positioning point, the intensive support model not only revitalized training resources but also enhanced training quality and efficiency. Recently, the detachment organized a phased military training assessment, with significant improvements in the results of several subjects.
