The UK’s Pearson Engineering announced on 19 January 2026 that it is building on a GBP 1.5 million (EUR 1.72 million) investment to develop a new uncrewed mine and route clearance platform called the MineWolf MW370 Next Generation.

Pearson’s MineWolf platforms have supported mine clearance operations worldwide, with the MW370 recently dispatched by the UK Ministry of Defence to defeat explosives in Ukraine, which is now the most mined country in the world.

Building on this legacy, the MW370 Next Generation incorporates advanced integrated automation that delivers thousands of operational hours while eliminating obsolescence and reducing risk to operators. The upgraded platform introduces enhanced maintainability, reinforced ballistic protection and significantly improved situational awareness.

“This new evolution of the system is supported by comprehensive, end-to-end engagement from Pearson Engineering, ensuring full lifecycle support and sustained operational effectiveness,” the company noted.

The upgraded product offers significantly enhanced capabilities for the effective removal of anti-personnel (AP) and anti-tank (AT) landmines up to 15 kg. Fully uncrewed, the model includes a cutting-edge camera video system with real-time video streaming on a single screen and offers a mine-clearing performance of up to 4,500 m2 per hour.

The MW370 Next Generation is operated via a mesh-capable remote-control system capable of an operational line-of-sight range of up to 3000 m.

Pearson Engineering Chief Executive Ian Bell was quoted in a company press release as saying, “The MineWolf MW370 has a proven track record of life-saving capacity around the world. Uncrewed solutions like the MW370 Next Generation offer groundbreaking opportunities to preserve and protect the lives of our allies like never before.”

Pearson Engineering Director of Engin Jason Riby added, “Backed by extensive upgrades and innovative research and development, Pearson Engineering’s MineWolf MW370 Next Generation reflects our commitment to protecting humanitarian and allied military forces with the safest technology.”

Pearson Engineering launched the MW370 Next Generation at the DIMDEX 2026 defence exhibition, held at the Qatar National Convention Centre near Doha from 19-22 January.
