According to the Korean Central News Agency on the 7th, the commissioning ceremony for the "Kang Kyun" destroyer was held on the 6th at Wonsan Port, North Korea, attended by Kim Jong Un, General Secretary of the Workers' Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Affairs Commission.

The report stated that Zhao Chunlong, a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea and Secretary of the Central Committee, delivered a report on the preparations for the commissioning of the "Kang Kyun" destroyer. After being launched, the ship underwent a multi-stage professional evaluation and testing process, and its combat performance and reliability were comprehensively verified. The ship was officially commissioned into the Navy of the Korean People's Army.

Kim Jong Un stated in his speech that the "Kang Kyun" destroyer is not only a comprehensive embodiment of North Korea's economic, national defense, and scientific and technological strength but also a crystallization of North Korea's self-respect, will, and tenacious spirit in safeguarding its own rights.
