Precision Breakthrough! The Drone Innovation Challenge Refines New Quality Combat Power
Recently, the Shandong Armed Police Corps held a drone innovation challenge to forge a strong backbone team in drone expertise and accelerate the generation of new domain and new quality combat capabilities.
At a comprehensive training ground, dozens of competing teams from various grassroots units of the Shandong Armed Police Corps showcased their skills. In the timed assembly task, various drone components and faulty parts were randomly scattered, and the participants had to eliminate the faulty parts, manually solder to maintain circuit continuity, and assemble six drones within 60 minutes. Failure to complete the assembly within the specified time or if the drones could not be launched would result in disqualification from the competition.

In the low-altitude obstacle crossing and infiltration competition, simulated terrain elements such as mountains, jungles, and towns appeared on the competition field, realistically replicating various complex environments that might be encountered on the battlefield. Participants wore special glasses, closely monitoring the real-time flight footage and flexibly responding to deviations caused by gusts of wind. Facing a dozen simulated obstacles such as doors, windows, bridge openings, buildings, pipes, trees, trenches, and chimneys, the drones sometimes skimmed close to the ground to evade "enemy" reconnaissance, sometimes rapidly ascended to pass through narrow passages, and sometimes maneuvered skillfully to avoid vegetation cover, weaving through numerous obstacles and gusty interference to break through with precision.

Participant from the Qingdao Armed Police Team, Han Jinwei: Through the intense competition of the two tasks, we effectively tested our comprehensive abilities in rapid response, precise control, and on-the-spot handling, while also clearly identifying our shortcomings in tactical application and attention to detail, allowing us to practice and train continuously in competition, honing our winning capabilities in complex battlefield environments.
