In recent days, intermittent clashes have occurred in the border area between Afghanistan and Pakistan in eastern Afghanistan and northern Pakistan. The clashes were triggered by Pakistani airstrikes on the night of the 21st to the early morning of the 22nd, targeting multiple camps identified by Pakistan as terrorist bases in the border region. Pakistan claims that the airstrikes killed over 80 terrorists, while Afghanistan claims that the airstrikes resulted in the deaths of 18 people, including women and children.
Since October of last year, there have been multiple instances of gunfire along the Afghanistan-Pakistan border.
