Russia Accuses Germany's Military Strategy of Being Full of Confrontational Thinking

According to a report by Reference News Network on April 27, TASS reported on April 23 that Russian presidential press secretary Dmitry Peskov told reporters that Germany's military concept is a concentrated embodiment of Europe's confrontation with Russia.

Peskov pointed out that this concept is the "most vivid manifestation" of confrontation and a "concretization of oppositional thinking."

Peskov noted to reporters that regardless of whether the European Union is willing or not, building a new European security architecture will require dialogue between Europe and Russia.

Peskov emphasized, "In any case, this will require (Russia) to engage in dialogue with Europeans, no matter how reluctant they (European countries) may be. To build a new European security architecture, this must be done."

In an interview with Channel One, Peskov pointed out that Europeans are trying to compensate for the "erosion suffered within NATO" by once again declaring Russia as an enemy and drawing new dividing lines.

He stressed, "Outside of NATO, Europe is now rapidly advancing its own common security policy. In fact, they will compensate for some kind of 'erosion' suffered within NATO by constructing their own independent security identity. Against the backdrop of all these processes, we are once again declared their enemy."

According to another report by TASS on April 24, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Dmitry Lyubinsky stated in an interview with Izvestia that Moscow attaches great importance to Berlin's intention to strengthen its defense capabilities and thereby occupy a leadership position on the European stage.

Lyubinsky stated that Germany's militarization plans, particularly the intention to expand its armed forces, "can and should be seen as its aspiration for European leadership." (Translation/ Han Ziling)
