Russia and Ukraine Exchange 320 Captured Soldiers
Xinhua News Agency Moscow/Kiev, June 26 (Reporter Hou Ming, Li Dongxu) - On June 26, Russia and Ukraine exchanged 320 captured soldiers, with each side handing over 160 personnel.
The Russian Ministry of Defense stated on June 26 that 160 captured Russian soldiers returned from the Ukrainian-controlled area that day. In exchange, Russia handed over 160 captured personnel to Ukraine. The United Arab Emirates participated in mediating this operation. The Russian personnel are currently receiving medical treatment and psychological counseling in Belarus, after which they will return to Russia.
On the same day, the Ukrainian Prisoner of War Treatment Coordination Headquarters posted on social media that 160 Ukrainian soldiers were released back to the country. All released personnel will undergo necessary medical examinations and treatment.
The Ukrainian Prisoner of War Treatment Coordination Headquarters stated that this is the 76th prisoner exchange since the full outbreak of the Russia-Ukraine conflict. So far, a total of 9,606 captured Ukrainian soldiers have been released through prisoner exchange operations.
