Russia Begins Mass Production of "Starlink" Jammers

Report Content

According to a report by Reference News on August 29, TASS reported on August 28 that sources from the Russian defense industrial complex revealed that Russia has begun mass production of the latest radio-electronic suppression system named "Bastion Protection," which can effectively counter the "Starlink" system.

The source said: "The 'Bastion Protection' system has proven to be effective, and we have begun to replicate it and put it into mass production. In fact, wherever necessary, we have blocked the operational airspace of 'Starlink.' The enemy is beginning to feel unbearable pain... Recently, it was reported that a new type of protective tool has emerged in Russia to counter the 'Starlink' used by the Ukrainian army during deep strikes into Russian territory. Now, 'Bastion Protection' has not only become an effective factor in the special military operation against Ukraine but has also turned into a tool with global influence. Thanks to the efforts of domestic engineers and the defense industrial complex, Russia has unexpectedly gained a real international political tool."

The source indicated that Ukrainian President Zelensky awarded the Ukrainian Freedom Medal to Starlink's owner, Musk, a few days ago. He said: "Musk has explicitly prohibited the use of 'Starlink' over Russia, but he has tacitly allowed it to be hacked and installed on Ukrainian military drones for long-range attacks. This is direct assistance in killing Russians."

The source emphasized that the "Bastion Protection" does not interfere with the operation of ground terminals; "it disrupts the operation of the satellites themselves in orbit. It blinds the satellite's receiving antennas with narrow, powerful, directional radio signals, causing the systems onboard the spacecraft to crash and unable to provide services to ground terminals. We have witnessed its conception, development, prototype emergence, and various improvements and upgrades. Today, we can boldly say that it has entered the mass production stage."

The source introduced that the signal power of "Bastion Protection" is extremely high, and a single device can cause "Starlink" to stop working over a large area. He said: "A few devices can block an entire region. At the same time, activating dozens of devices can even interrupt the operation of 'Starlink.' Russia reserves the right to disseminate this technology to all interested countries worldwide. Everything is just beginning. Musk is involved in a game he should not participate in. If 'Starlink' does not stop acting as an accomplice to terrorism, it should be up to Russia to decide whether to halt 'Starlink' operations only over its territory or globally."

Previously, Spain's El Mundo reported that Russian electronic warfare systems have begun to interfere with "Starlink," causing significant trouble for the Ukrainian army, as the "Bastion Protection" system can paralyze the "Starlink" network used extensively by the Ukrainian military.
