Saudi Defense Ministry spokesman Turki Al-Maliki stated that the Saudi air defense forces intercepted and destroyed several drones in the past few hours. These drones were launched from within Iraq, attempting to attack oil facilities in the eastern region of Saudi Arabia and the capital, Riyadh.

Al-Maliki emphasized that Saudi Arabia has the legitimate right to maintain national security and defend itself and its nation, and reserves the right to respond at the appropriate time and place.

On the same day, the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a statement strongly condemning the drone attacks on the country and urged the Iraqi government to take measures to prevent its territory from being used to launch attacks against Saudi Arabia.

The statement reiterated Saudi Arabia's determination to maintain national security and sovereignty, deter attackers, and respond to the sources of aggression, while calling on the Iraqi government to take all necessary measures to ensure that Iraqi territory is not used as a platform for launching attacks against Saudi Arabia.
