Xinhua News Agency, Riyadh, October 7 (Reporter Luo Chen, Wang Haizhou) - Turki Al-Maliki, spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, stated in a statement on the evening of the 7th that the coalition launched a large-scale military operation against the Houthi armed group in Yemen, destroying 82 military targets.

Al-Maliki said in the statement that the coalition carried out a comprehensive military operation, destroying 82 military targets of the Houthi armed group located in the Yemeni provinces of Saada, Hodeidah, Al-Jawf, and Marib. The targets included the organization's ballistic missile sites, command and control centers, communication systems, and personnel gathering points.

Al-Maliki stated that this operation is a response to the Houthi armed group's attacks on civilians and civilian facilities within Saudi territory. The Houthis recently attacked two airports in Saudi Arabia, and these actions "will surely be punished."

The Saudi General Authority of Civil Aviation issued a statement earlier on the 7th, stating that Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in the capital Riyadh were attacked from the 6th to the 7th, resulting in 3 deaths and 36 injuries.
