Report Content

18.09.2026 – Oy Sisu Auto Ab and Rumble Tools Oy have launched a strategic partnership that combines heavy vehicle technology with cutting-edge robotics solutions to meet the evolving demands of the modern battlefield. At the core of the cooperation is the development and global offering of the SISU G-Series product family (GTP, GTT and GTL) by integrating intelligent and autonomous technologies into Sisu’s proven vehicle platforms.

The partnership combines Sisu Auto’s renowned off-road mobility with Rumble Tools’ autonomous aerial robotic systems and docking stations, bringing entirely new multidimensional tactical capabilities to the market.

Sisu Auto is a Finnish manufacturer of military and heavy-duty vehicles with nearly 95 years of experience in developing and producing vehicles designed for demanding operating conditions. The company is particularly known for its exceptional off-road mobility, high reliability, and ability to deliver solutions that meet the evolving needs of defence and security customers. The cooperation with Rumble Tools supports Sisu Auto’s strategy of developing next-generation intelligent vehicle systems.

Airborne Robotic Protection for Tactical Vehicles

The cooperation leverages Rumble Tools’ Low Altitude Economy (LAE) system, a dual-use technology now being adapted for battlefield applications. Operating fully autonomously from docking stations mounted on vehicle rooftops, robotic helicopters enhance force protection and improve situational awareness. The system utilizes generic swarm intelligence, enabling the aircraft to deploy and return for recharging at locations different from their launch point, while maintaining multi-directional communications through various satellite networks.

  • The core competencies of the two companies complement each other seamlessly. The robotic helicopters serve as vehicle guardians, delivering enhanced situational awareness as well as operational capabilities, says Arto Koivuharju, CEO of Rumble Tools Oy.

  • It has been fantastic to join forces with Sisu. The cooperation has been truly inspiring from the very beginning, and we share a strong drive to get things done. It is a pleasure to develop solutions together that will take the performance of the entire industry to the next level, continues Jani Pihl, Chairman of the Board of Rumble Tools Oy.

  • This cooperation directly supports Sisu Auto’s C4Imobility technology programme. The programme focuses on the development of next-generation vehicle solutions with a long-term outlook, emphasizing sensor technology and situational awareness, intelligent sensors, modern secure communications systems, advanced protection solutions, and autonomy. This partnership is a significant step forward for Finnish vehicle expertise in the digital era, summarizes Tomi Gardemeister, CEO of Oy Sisu Auto Ab.
