Strong Explosions Heard in Kyiv, Mayor Says Multiple Districts Attacked
Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, June 15 (Reporter Li Dongxu) After 1 a.m. local time on the 15th, Xinhua reporters in Kyiv heard multiple strong explosions. Kyiv Mayor Klitschko stated that the city was attacked by drones and other means. The air defense forces of Kyiv city and Kyiv region continued their operations.
Klitschko posted on social media early on the 15th that the Podilskyi, Obolon, Pecherskyi, and Solomianskyi districts of Kyiv were subjected to airstrikes, with multiple residential buildings catching fire after being hit. Staff from the State Emergency Service of Ukraine rushed to the attack sites to carry out rescue operations.
As of the time of publication, the Kyiv city military administration had not lifted the air raid alert.
