Sudanese Military Claims to Regain Five Key Locations in North Kordofan State
Xinhua News Agency, Cairo, July 25 (Reporter Zhang Meng) Khartoum news: According to a statement issued on the 25th by the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Darfur local armed forces, their joint forces have regained control of five strategic locations in the central state of North Kordofan, including the city of Bara and Baierke, from the hands of the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces.
The statement said that the joint forces killed multiple personnel of the Rapid Support Forces, destroyed 73 of their combat vehicles, and seized a large amount of equipment.
A military source from Sudan told Xinhua reporters that the operations of the joint forces in the state are not yet over, and reinforcements are still arriving. The next phase will focus on clearing the remaining forces of the Rapid Support Forces in the recaptured areas, ensuring the safety of major roads, and restoring the delivery of humanitarian aid supplies.
The Sudanese military source stated that this operation will weaken the supply and deployment capabilities of the Rapid Support Forces and reduce the risk of ground attacks on central Khartoum state and White Nile state.
