Switzerland Announces Participation in NATO Military Exercises
The Swiss government announced on the 4th that, as part of NATO's Partnership for Peace program, Switzerland is participating in the NATO Tiger Meet 2026 multinational joint exercise.
From May 4 to May 15, the Swiss Air Force will deploy five F/A-18 fighter jets to Greece for the exercise. This exercise will take place in realistic scenarios, aimed at comparing and enhancing the military capabilities of the various forces. The exercise also seeks to improve "multinational defense capabilities and develop interoperability between NATO and its partner countries."
Switzerland was recognized as a permanently neutral country at the Congress of Vienna in 1815 and has not participated in any foreign wars since, including both World Wars.
