Xinhua News Agency, Bangkok, July 24 (Reporter Liu Yang, Sun Weitong) On July 24, Thai Prime Minister Anutin met with visiting Chinese Defense Minister Dong Jun in Bangkok.

Anutin said, I have just concluded a successful visit to China, and both sides have reached many consensuses on strengthening exchanges and cooperation in various fields and jointly promoting the construction of a Thailand-China community with a shared future. The Thai side firmly adheres to the one-China policy and will not change due to external pressure or interference. Thailand-China defense cooperation is an important component of the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. We are willing to work with the Chinese side to make good use of the "2+2" strategic dialogue mechanism between the foreign ministers and defense ministers of both countries, deepen strategic collaboration and mutual trust, and strengthen exchanges and cooperation between the two militaries in various fields. The Thai side appreciates the constructive role played by the Chinese side in mediating the Thailand-Cambodia conflict and contributing to the peaceful resolution of disputes.

Dong Jun said, the peoples of China and Thailand have interacted for thousands of years, and their friendly cooperation has remained vibrant. China-Thailand relations are moving towards the next golden 50 years. The Chinese side always regards the Thai side as a reliable partner in maintaining regional prosperity and stability, and is willing to jointly implement the important consensus reached by the leaders of both countries, promote the continuous deepening of military cooperation, and carry out high-level collaboration with a solid foundation of mutual trust, deep cooperation connotations, and more strategic tacit understanding, to provide greater support for building a more stable, prosperous, and sustainable China-Thailand community with a shared future, and to make greater contributions to maintaining lasting peace and stability in the region.
