The headquarters of the Ukrainian Security Service was attacked by Russian drones, leaving at least 12 injured.

According to reports from foreign media on September 5, the headquarters of the Ukrainian Security Service in the center of Kyiv was attacked by Russian military drones on the 4th local time, resulting in at least 12 injuries.

According to the Kyiv Independent, around 3 PM that day, air raid sirens sounded in Kyiv, and an explosion occurred in the city center about half an hour later. Kyiv Mayor Klitschko stated that the attack damaged a non-residential building.

Ukrainian President Zelensky stated, "The drones directly targeted the office of the head of the Security Service." Zelensky indicated that he had instructed for an "appropriate and practical response" to the attack.

A source familiar with the situation told AFP that the head of the Security Service, Poklad, was not in the office at the time.

Reports indicate that Zelensky posted two photos on social media of him talking with the head of the Ukrainian Security Service, suggesting that Ukraine would respond militarily to the attack. He stated, "The targets for retaliatory strikes have been identified. We will choose the appropriate time to ensure that the actions achieve the expected results."

According to the Kyiv Independent, the Kyiv City Military Administration reported that the attack resulted in at least 12 injuries, with 7 people hospitalized. Mayor Klitschko stated that the fire at the scene has been extinguished, but the attack damaged the exterior walls of the building.
