[Global Times Comprehensive Report] April 23 marks the 77th anniversary of the establishment of the People's Navy. The Navy will hold open house events in more than 10 cities across the country around the 23rd, with over 40 active-duty ships meeting the public, and various types of vessels will be open to the public for the first time. The number and types of ships open to the public are the highest in the history of the Navy's open house activities.

The ships open to the public include not only the 052D and 956 class missile destroyers, the 053H3, 054A, and 056A class missile frigates, the 081 class mine countermeasure vessel, the 022 class missile boat, and the 071 class landing platform dock, but also active auxiliary vessels such as comprehensive supply ships, ocean navigation training ships, marine comprehensive survey ships, comprehensive rescue and salvage ships, and hospital ships. The open house locations include cities such as Dalian, Dongying, Qingdao, Lianyungang, Taizhou, Nantong, Shanghai, Ningbo, Zhoushan, Ningde, Xiamen, Shantou, Guangzhou, Zhanjiang, Danzhou, and Sanya. Many of the ships open to the public have carried out significant missions such as escorting in the Gulf of Aden, overseas visits, and joint exercises, with several vessels docking in provinces or cities for the first time.

In addition to the ship open house, the Navy will also organize simultaneous open house events at aviation bases, military ports, and other military facilities, while collaborating with the cities where the ships are named to carry out themed activities under the "Warships and Cities" dual-support initiative. The Navy will organize themed light displays at core landmarks in dozens of major cities across the country to help and support the public in understanding and loving the Navy, and to strengthen national defense education for all citizens.

Opening active-duty ships to the public is a cultural tradition of navies around the world. In recent years, the People's Navy has repeatedly held open house activities on anniversaries such as the Navy's founding day and National Day, with the types, scale, and impact of these activities continuously expanding. Ship open house events have become an important window for the public to understand the Navy and an effective way to promote marine education.
