Xinhua News Agency, Moscow/Kiev, August 1 (Reporter Huang He, Li Dongxu) - The Russian Ministry of Defense reported on the 1st that from the night of July 31 to the early morning of August 1, the Russian armed forces carried out large-scale strikes on multiple military-industrial enterprises and logistics centers in the Ukrainian capital, Kiev, and Kiev Oblast. According to Ukrainian media reports on the 1st, the attacks on Kiev have resulted in multiple casualties.

The Russian Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian armed forces used land-based and sea-based long-range precision weapons and long-range attack drones to carry out the strikes. The targeted Ukrainian military-industrial enterprises produce various types of missiles, drones, radar systems, electronic countermeasure equipment, including "Neptune" and "Flamingo." The Russian side also struck a logistics center in Kiev Oblast that receives, stores, and assembles drones, as well as two cargo ships transporting military supplies to the southern Ukrainian port of Odessa.

Additionally, according to an earlier report from the Russian Ministry of Defense on the 1st, from 20:00 Moscow time on July 31 to 07:00 on August 1, the Russian air defense system intercepted and destroyed 274 Ukrainian drones.

The Ukrainian International News Agency reported on the 1st that the Russian military's attack on Kiev has resulted in 9 deaths and 28 injuries. Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba stated on social media on the 1st that Russia is intensifying its airstrikes on Ukraine, launching more than 30 ballistic missiles in one night. Kuleba said that the short-term direction of the conflict will depend on the struggle for air superiority, and Ukraine urgently needs more air defense weapons.
