Ukraine Calls on International Partners to Provide "Patriot-3" Missiles as Soon as Possible
Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, February 12 - Ukrainian Defense Minister Oleksii Reznikov called on international partners to provide Ukraine with "Patriot-3" air defense missiles as soon as possible during the Ukraine Defense Contact Group meeting on the 12th.
According to the Ukrainian International News Agency, Reznikov stated at the meeting that Ukraine's infrastructure faces a significant threat amid the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and Ukraine needs the "Patriot-3" as an effective tool for countering ballistic missiles. The Ukrainian side urged international partners to provide this type of missile as soon as possible through the "Ukraine Priority Needs List" mechanism.
Reznikov said that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky tasked the Ministry of Defense with building an effective combat system to prevent Russian airstrikes and ground advances, while also enhancing asymmetric strikes and cyberattacks against Russian military and economic targets.
On the same day, Zelensky stated on social media that the main targets of Russian airstrikes are Ukraine's energy and electricity infrastructure, including power plants and substations. The Ukrainian military must strengthen defenses to withstand such airstrikes. All materials in the air defense plan should be delivered more quickly.
