Ukraine claims to intercept 50 Russian missiles and 582 drones.

Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, June 15 - According to a report from the Ukrainian News Agency on the 15th, citing information from the Ukrainian Air Force, the Ukrainian side intercepted a total of 50 missiles and 582 drones during the large-scale attack launched by the Russian military on the evening of the 14th.

The report stated that starting from 6 PM local time on the 14th, the Russian military used various types of missiles and attack drones to carry out large-scale strikes against Ukraine, with Kyiv being the main target of the attacks.

Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko posted on social media on the 15th that the large-scale attack by the Russian military on Kyiv resulted in 5 deaths and 35 injuries. Klitschko stated that the airstrikes caused damage to multiple buildings in 9 districts of the city, and the roof of a cathedral at the Kyiv Cave Monastery caught fire.

Additionally, according to a statement released by the Russian Ministry of Defense on the morning of the 15th, the Russian military struck defense industrial facilities in Kyiv and other areas of Ukraine during the night of the previous day into the early hours of that day, but denied that the targets included civilian facilities such as a monastery in Kyiv.

The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) issued a statement on the 15th condemning the attack on the Kyiv Cave Monastery. This monastery, along with St. Sophia Cathedral, was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990 and is one of Ukraine's landmarks.
