Ukrainian Army Attacks Large Oil Refinery in Southwestern Russia
Xinhua News Agency, Kyiv, September 22 (Reporter Li Dongxu) - The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces stated on social media on the 22nd that they launched an attack on the Kuybyshev Oil Refinery in Samara Oblast, southwestern Russia, in the early hours of the day.
The Ukrainian Special Operations Forces reported that the attack was carried out in coordination with the Security Service of Ukraine and the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine. Multiple drones struck the refinery, causing a large fire.
The Kuybyshev Oil Refinery has an annual refining capacity of 7 million tons and is one of the largest oil industrial enterprises in the Samara region. The Ukrainian military has previously conducted multiple strikes on the Kuybyshev Oil Refinery.
