Ukrainian President: Previously Proposed Conditions to the U.S. for Not Attacking Russian Oil Refineries, None Were Met
On October 25 local time, Ukrainian President Zelensky stated in an interview that during last week's meeting in Oslo, Norway, Ukraine clearly presented three proposals to the United States to stop attacking Russian energy facilities.
Zelensky indicated that the first proposal is that Russia must stop striking Ukraine's power grid; the second proposal is for the U.S. to authorize Ukraine to use the militarized version of the "Starlink" system, "Starshield," to strike deep targets within Russia and to locate the positions of Russian military ballistic missile launchers; the third proposal is that if the first two cannot be achieved, then the U.S. "should at least provide Ukraine with interceptors for the 'Patriot' air defense system."
Zelensky noted that, as it stands, Ukraine has received nothing, not only has it not received "Patriot" missiles, but the "Starlink" network has also experienced throttling at times.
On October 20, Zelensky held talks in Oslo with Norwegian Prime Minister Støre and Finnish President Stubb, with U.S. Presidential Envoy Whitcomb in attendance.
