Xinhua News Agency, Cairo, October 4 (Reporter Yu Qihan) - Khartoum news: The United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) issued a statement on the 4th, saying that a humanitarian aid convoy from the agency was attacked by airstrikes in South Kordofan, Sudan, in the early hours of the 3rd, resulting in the death of one driver.
The statement said that two trucks transporting food from the town of Dilling in South Kordofan to Kadugli were clearly marked as humanitarian vehicles at the time of the incident. Further details of the event are still under investigation. The WFP called for accountability for those responsible.
