UNIFIL convoy stopped by Israeli forces in southern Lebanon
Xinhua News Agency, Beirut, April 15 (Reporter Cao Changhao, Shen Feng) The United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) issued a statement on the 15th, saying that a convoy transporting peacekeeping personnel was stopped by the Israel Defense Forces on the 14th in the southern region of Lebanon.
The statement said that the convoy was on its way to the UNIFIL headquarters in southern Lebanon when it was stopped a few kilometers from the headquarters.
The statement also mentioned that the Israeli military's establishment of physical roadblocks and the revocation of previously granted passage permits have affected the movement of peacekeeping personnel and essential support staff, and may undermine UNIFIL's capacity to provide support.
UNIFIL once again urged the Israeli military to adhere to established arrangements, fulfill its obligations, ensure the safety of peacekeeping personnel, and guarantee the freedom of movement for all UNIFIL patrols and logistics convoys.
