In an interview with the "Jerusalem Post," Hawkins stated that reports claiming Central Command Commander Brad Cooper is advocating for a new round of strikes against Iran are "completely fabricated and not true at all."
According to a report by Israeli Channel 13, during Cooper's recent visit to Israel, he mentioned that he is advocating for a new round of military strikes on Iranian infrastructure to force Iran to change its current position. The U.S. may have "no choice" but to resume strikes on Iranian infrastructure such as natural gas, oil, and electricity, and will require cooperation from Israel for a joint strike. He stated that this "will change the game."
The report also mentioned that Cooper has even made related suggestions to Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Gen. Mark Milley, and U.S. President Trump has been informed.
Israel Public Broadcasting Corporation reported on the 8th that Cooper arrived in Israel that day for a short visit and discussed the "multi-front situation" with senior officials of the Israel Defense Forces.
