Reports indicate that Austin said a weapon from Iran breached the air defense systems of its allies, "and in that incident, it just happened to hit a fortified tactical operations center."

The U.S. Central Command stated on the 2nd that as of 7:30 AM Eastern Time that day, four U.S. soldiers had died in operations against Iran. Later that evening, U.S. Central Command updated on social media, stating that six American servicemen had died in military operations against Iran. The report mentioned that the U.S. military found the bodies of two previously missing soldiers at a facility that had been previously targeted by Iranian retaliatory strikes.

Additionally, according to the U.S. "Stars and Stripes," U.S. Central Command spokesman Tim Hawkins stated on the 2nd that by that afternoon, 18 U.S. soldiers had been seriously injured in military operations against Iran.

On February 28, the U.S. and Israel launched a large-scale attack on Iran, resulting in the death of Iranian Supreme Leader Khamenei. Subsequently, Iran retaliated against U.S. military bases in the Middle East and Israeli targets.
