On August 27, Xinhua News Agency reported from Washington that U.S. Navy officials stated that the USS Theodore Roosevelt aircraft carrier and its 5,000 crew members will be deployed to the Middle East in the coming weeks to replace the USS Washington aircraft carrier, carrying out a deployment mission for at least seven months.

The report noted that the USS Washington just took over from the USS Lincoln, which had been deployed at sea for over 200 days, on the 20th.

According to a report from the U.S. Naval Institute News on the 26th, since launching military operations against Iran in February of this year, the U.S. has continuously deployed aircraft carriers to the Middle East, and the U.S. Navy is facing the longest deployment cycle in decades. U.S. Navy Chief of Operations Admiral Daryl Caudle stated that the ongoing state of conflict with Iran is putting pressure on the U.S. Navy fleet.

Since the outbreak of hostilities with Iran, the U.S. military's high-intensity operational deployments and actions have continuously squeezed the space for personnel rest, equipment maintenance, and military rotation. Previously, it was reported that sailors on the USS Lincoln faced issues with living conditions and mental health due to the high-intensity operational tempo and prolonged deployment, with several individuals even experiencing mental breakdowns and attempting to jump overboard.
