高翔，生于1931年11月，辽宁盖县人，1948年1月参加革命。1965年9月20日，他驾驶歼-6击落了当时美军最先进的F-104C型战斗机，荣立一等功。战斗中，高翔在距敌291米时开炮，一直打到距敌仅39米才脱离，自己的战机也被敌机爆炸的碎片损伤。他生前回忆当时的情景时说：“我死就死了吧，撞就撞了，我也得干！”
