The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran stated on October 30 that four "violating" oil tankers exploded and caught fire in the Strait of Hormuz that day.

The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated on the 30th that two "violating" oil tankers encountered accidents while attempting to pass through unauthorized routes in the Strait of Hormuz and were subsequently intercepted in the waters south of the strait. The statement indicated that these two oil tankers had turned off all navigation and positioning systems and, with the support of the U.S. military, attempted to leave the Strait of Hormuz via unauthorized routes. After repeatedly ignoring Iran's radio warnings, the two oil tankers entered an unsafe area, leading to the accidents.

In another statement released that day, the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reported that a supertanker exploded and caught fire after hitting a mine in the Strait of Hormuz. Later that day, the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps stated that a fourth oil tanker exploded and caught fire while violating navigation rules in the Strait of Hormuz. This oil tanker ignored the radio warnings from the Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
