Video | Surfing the Waves, Rapid Maneuvers! Decoding the Hardcore Combat Power of "Marine Supercars"

As a sharp tool for delivering military power, China's "Wild Horse" hovercraft landing craft is undoubtedly the "star" among amphibious combat equipment. It has a carrying capacity of several dozen tons and an astonishing speed of several dozen knots, capable of transforming into a "sea supercar" for amphibious armored equipment, leading the charge and racing forward in landing operations.
Reporters from the Central Station captured the joint docking exercises of the 071 amphibious landing ship and the "Wild Horse" hovercraft landing craft on-site, bringing you the hardcore combat power of the "sea supercar"!
Born for rapid assaults
Directly hitting the "Wild Horse" hovercraft training site
The 071 amphibious landing ship conducted a series of realistic combat training exercises at sea, including joint docking exercises with the "Wild Horse" hovercraft landing craft.

Reporter from the Central Station, Zhuang Xiaoying: I am now in the cockpit of the "Wild Horse" hovercraft, and outside is enveloped in water mist. The "Wild Horse" is moving towards the 071 amphibious landing ship at a very fast speed. When approaching the mother ship's course, the speed will need to slow down, especially when about to enter the stern gate, as docking requires very precise operations. Close coordination is needed between the mother ship and the landing craft; the 071 amphibious landing ship must adjust its course and speed, while the hovercraft must continuously adjust its direction to ensure a precise and smooth entry into the dock.

The "Wild Horse" is born for rapid assaults. Traditional landing craft have a speed of only about 20 knots, while the "Wild Horse," once out of the dock, can increase its speed to 40 knots in just a few seconds. This rapid maneuverability enhances tactical surprise. What’s more, it can maintain such high speed all the way to the beach. This means that under the same sea conditions, while conventional landing craft make a round trip from the mother ship to the beach, the "Wild Horse" can achieve two round trips for troop transport.
The anti-ship capability of the naval surface vessel system
will be greatly enhanced

Military expert Cao Weidong stated that the changes in the People's Navy surface vessel forces will be characterized by a large number and a full range of models. There will not only be aircraft carriers but also 10,000-ton missile destroyers, multi-purpose frigates, amphibious assault ships, mine sweepers, supply ships, and landing ships, forming a very comprehensive surface combat vessel system.

Cao Weidong also mentioned that in the development of weaponry and equipment, we can expect more artificial intelligence and unmanned equipment to be integrated into the People's Navy surface vessels. When testing its comprehensive capabilities, various types of surface vessels will emerge, characterized by strong information capabilities and the ability to engage in system confrontation.

The People's Liberation Army Navy conducted training exercises with the 'Wild Horse' hovercraft landing craft and the 071 amphibious assault ship. The 'Wild Horse' demonstrated its rapid speed and maneuverability, capable of reaching 40 knots, which enhances tactical surprise during amphibious operations. This training is part of a broader effort to improve the capabilities of the naval surface fleet.
- The 'Wild Horse' hovercraft can reach speeds of 40 knots, significantly faster than traditional landing craft.
- The hovercraft is designed for rapid assaults and can transport troops more efficiently than conventional vessels.
- The People's Liberation Army Navy is enhancing its surface fleet capabilities with various types of vessels.
