Yemen's Houthi Forces Claim Attacks on Multiple Targets in Saudi Arabia, Including Oil Facilities

Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, September 24 (Reporter Yin Zha) - Sana'a reports: According to the Houthi armed group on the 24th, the organization launched attacks that day on a "sensitive target" in the Saudi capital Riyadh, facilities of Saudi Aramco in the western city of Yanbu, and multiple military targets in the southwestern Jizan region.

The military spokesperson for the Houthi armed group, Yahya Saree, stated on social media on the evening of the 24th that the organization used ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones in the operations in Riyadh and Yanbu, but did not disclose casualty figures.

The statement also mentioned that since the escalation of the situation, Saudi Arabia has launched 1,018 attacks on Houthi-controlled areas, deploying F-15 and Typhoon fighter jets from air bases in the southwestern city of Khamis Mushait and the western city of Taif, and firing missiles from Najran and Jizan, targeting provinces such as Marib, Saada, Taiz, Al-Jawf, and Al-Bayda in Yemen.

Saree stated in the announcement that the Houthi armed group will continue to respond to Saudi military actions.

Earlier that day, the Houthi armed group stated in another announcement that it had launched a large-scale attack on multiple military targets in the Saudi Jizan region using dozens of ballistic missiles and drones. The attack "resulted in hundreds of casualties" and destroyed and ignited several weapon depots.

The Saudi-led coalition stated earlier on the 24th that the Saudi air defense system intercepted and destroyed six Houthi ballistic missiles that day, thwarting the Houthi attempt to attack Taif and Yanbu in Saudi Arabia. Coalition spokesperson Turki Al-Maliki stated that they would "resolutely respond" to the actions of the Houthi armed group escalating the situation.
