Xinhua News Agency, Kuwait City, October 8 (Reporter Yin Zhao) - Sana'a reports: The Yemeni Houthi armed group stated on the 8th that it has once again targeted King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, and launched an attack on the Yemeni government forces near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait.

Houthi military spokesman Yahya Saree issued a statement on social media that a ballistic missile "accurately hit" King Khalid International Airport, causing disruptions to airport air traffic.

Saree issued a "final warning" to international airlines, demanding they cease using Saudi airspace, stating that "Saudi airspace has become a military operation area for the Houthi armed group," but warned that the warning does not apply to the airspace over Mecca and Medina.

The statement also mentioned that the Houthi armed group launched multiple ballistic missiles at the gathering points and reinforcements of Yemeni government forces in the Al-Jawf area of Lahij province, near the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, resulting in dozens of casualties and some weapons storage facilities catching fire. The group also shot down an armed reconnaissance drone belonging to the Saudi military that was conducting "hostile activities" in Taiz province in southwestern Yemen.

The Saudi Arabian General Authority of Civil Aviation issued a statement on the 7th, stating that Abha International Airport in southwestern Saudi Arabia and King Khalid International Airport in the capital Riyadh were attacked from the 6th to the 7th, resulting in 3 deaths and 36 injuries.

The spokesperson for the Saudi-led coalition, Turki al-Maliki, issued a statement on the evening of the 7th, stating that the coalition launched a large-scale military operation against the Houthi armed group, destroying 82 military targets. Al-Maliki said that this operation is a response to the Houthi attacks on civilians and civilian facilities within Saudi territory.
