40 Days of Three Major Tests: Liaoning Ship's Combat Power Reaches New Heights
The Navy's Liaoning aircraft carrier has conducted training over more than 40 days, operating in the South China Sea, the Western Pacific, and other maritime airspaces, organizing exercises in air defense, anti-surface strike, support and cover, long-range comprehensive rescue, and actual weapon use, carrying out multiple batches of ship and aircraft offensive and defensive confrontations across day and night.
With a long duration, extensive range, and numerous subjects, what challenges will this pose for the naval formation?
Military commentator Du Wenlong stated that the Liaoning's training must withstand at least three major tests:
First is cross-regional training. This long-range training lasts for 40 days, navigating and training in several maritime areas, requiring adaptation to different weather conditions and sea states. Therefore, the deployment of carrier-based aircraft and various tactical training of the formation face significant challenges.
Second is all-element training. This formation is more complex compared to previous ones. In addition to new types of carrier-based aircraft, other combat vessels have joined, and the logistics support and other training subjects during the oceanic process are also relatively complex.
Third is full confrontation. Throughout the training process of the entire formation, from sailing out to returning to port, a confrontational state and combat readiness have been maintained.
The 40 days of practical training at sea demonstrate that the comprehensive combat capability of the Liaoning has reached a new height.
