Xinhua News Agency, London, August 2 (Reporter Gao Wencheng) - The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office reported on the evening of the 2nd that a tanker reported hearing an explosion nearby approximately 20 nautical miles northeast of Seeb in the Oman Sea. Currently, both the vessel and crew are safe.

The report indicates that the incident occurred in waters near the eastern entrance of the Strait of Hormuz. The UK Maritime Trade Operations Office received a report from the captain of the involved tanker at 20:37 Coordinated Universal Time on the 2nd (04:37 Beijing Time on the 3rd). The captain stated that the explosion occurred at a location relatively close to the vessel.
