On April 30, Xinhua News Agency reported from London (Reporter Zhao Jiasong) that, according to an exclusive report by the Financial Times on April 30, Israel has urgently deployed multiple air defense systems, including the "Iron Beam" laser defense system, to the United Arab Emirates to help the UAE respond to Iranian missiles and drones.

Two informed sources disclosed to the media that Israel has also delivered a "Spectro" lightweight surveillance system to the UAE, capable of detecting incoming drones from 20 kilometers away, particularly the Iranian "Witness" series drones.

Israel had previously deployed the "Iron Dome" air defense system in the UAE and sent dozens of Israeli military personnel to operate it. The report stated that after the U.S. and Israel launched military actions against Iran, Iran retaliated with over 500 ballistic missiles and 2,000 drones targeting the UAE, which used Israeli-made equipment to intercept them.

Additionally, Israel is sharing real-time intelligence with the UAE regarding Iran's preparations for short-range missile launches.

The Financial Times stated that the above deployment is one of the cases of defense cooperation between Israel and the UAE in recent years. The two countries established formal diplomatic relations after signing the "Abraham Accords" in 2020, and their economic and military ties have been continuously strengthened since then.

The UAE is set to withdraw from the Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries (OPEC) and the OPEC+ coalition of oil-producing countries, which includes non-OPEC members like Russia, starting May 1. Public opinion analysis suggests that the underlying reason includes the real stimulus of the Iranian conflict. The UAE has been the most severely attacked and hopes that Gulf countries will take a tough stance against Iran. According to the Wall Street Journal, the UAE is seeking to strengthen security cooperation with Israel.
